Last week, members of Occupy Oakland ended a “day of action” with the beginning of a new encampment a few blocks away from the original site at Frank Ogawa Plaza. This time, the land was privately owned and fenced in.

For three days this last week I’ve been photographing the Occupy Oakland protest. This site in particular is very organized and heavily spirited. It appears as though Tuesday’s clash with police hardened the protestors views as this crew says they are here to stay.
