Troop 14: Rock climbing at Pinnacles National Monument

This past weekend, Troop 14 camped out at Pinnacles National Monument. The park is near Paicines,California which is a 2.5 hour drive south of San Francisco. It was a new and fantastic trip full of new adventures for the troop, including rock climbing and cave hiking.

We’ve been having a series of fantastically clear days recently, so sunsets have been even more impressive then normal.

Troop 14: Flashlight Hike

Last night was Troop 14’s annual flashlight hike. We start around 4 PM and go for about 5 miles, ending around 8 PM. The point of the hike is fulfill some of the younger kid’s requirements to complete some night hiking and to learn compass/map work.

Nurse Alicia Torres for San Francisco Chronicle

I recently photographed Summit Medical Center registered nurse of 27 years, Alicia Torres, of Oakland.
Torres was the original nurse for Judith Ming, the oncology patient who recently died, but had been locked out on the day of Ming’s death due to the strike.
