My tactic to shooting graduation is to focus on the activities before and after the ceremony. Everything during the actual event is visually boring. Lots of words, but not much doing.

Winter sports portraits – 2010

Portraits are so hit or miss for me. Sometimes I can walk away from a shoot more pumped than a documentary assignment. Others, I sweat bullets and get anxious before I am even done shooting. Thankfully, this season’s crop of portraits was mostly anxiety free.

World’s largest pie fight

With more than 200 people in attendance, Molly Holbrook may have orchestrated the world’s largest pie fight in Genoa. The previous record was held by a Weezer music video, in which 120 custard pies were used.

Spotlight

Spotlight is an annual special section my paper does which focuses on a dozen, or so, people with a common theme. This year the concept was kids. Specifically one kid from each grade, K through 12.
