49ers devour Bears 32 to 7 (for Reuters)

The San Francisco 49ers lineman Aldon Smith had 5.5 sacks alone. That gives you a good sense of how the Chicago Bears fared in Monday Night Football’s romp. I wonder if anyone on the East Coast kept watching after the end of the first half when the score was 20 to 0.

Bears Quarterback Jason Cambpell (formerly of the Oakland Raiders) got rocked pretty hard, several times. The Bears’ second string quarterback seemed to need to scramble in every other play.

This sack banged him pretty hard. He stayed on the ground for a while afterward.

I wonder if Cambpell would be doing any better right now had he been able to stay on as first string with the Raiders instead of second string with Bears.

Niners defense was the talk of the game as the Bears were expected to have the stronger “D” coming into the game. But Bears tradition took a vacation this week.

49ers running back Frank Gore (21) had another impressive game with 78 yards rushing.

I was well placed for two of the game’s touchdowns. Of course, both were in the second half when the game was all but decided.

Possibly the most interesting play of the game was when the Niners scored a safety when a Bears offensive lineman was tackled in the end zone after retrieving a fumble from quarterback Jason Campbell.

As you can imagine, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was all smiles.

And Bears head coach Lovie Smith was not.

Great work as always! The Bears may not have shown up, but you certainly did!
