Every year Troop 14 does a weekend of volunteer work. Typically the troop goes to a boy scout camp and helps repair or build some of the infrastructure (steps, foundations, drainage, etc).
But this year we were asked to do our “Good Turn” (translates to “good deed” in boy scout language) with the rest of the public on Earth Day. So we helped remove some invasive species of plants (Scotch Broom in this case) in Milagra Ridge County Park.
We were working around lots of Poison Oak, so we were given white paper suits to cover our clothing. We looked like something out of a science fiction movie.
